How it feels to watch, from children to seniors all enjoying in a playground? While, there is no doubt, it is interesting! Here in Washington that moment was captured when folks of different age groups participated in an event on July 27.

As like past three years, this year also Bhutanese Community Resource Center, WA organized “Annual Sports 2013” at Valley Ridge Sports complex, SeaTac, WA. People of diverse age group participated in different sports. Senior engaged in games like Blind Folds and Musical chairs while children competed for Mathematic and Spoon race.

Audience

The main attraction of the event was inter-city soccer tournament of boys and girls respectively.  Out of five teams of boys, i.e. Kent, Tukwila A, Tukwila B, Everett, and Burien, Tukwila A seized the trophy biting Tukwila B with 3-0 in final.  In the same way, girls from Burien city claimed the trophy biting Tukwila’s girls with 2-1 in shoot-out after having tied game.

The event started from 9:00 AM till 6:30 PM had entertained couple hundred Bhutanese audience including few local individual. The event was coordinated by Birendra Khadka and supported by the Bhutanese youth of Washington.

  New Year 2070 BS Celebration in Washington



Bhutanese Seniors Honored

Bhutanese Community in Washington celebrated new year 2070 with huge joy and success. Different traditional dances and songs were presented by Bhutanese artists. Young Bhutanese artists from the state of Oregon had also staged couple of  their beautiful performances. Along with traditional performances, few modern dances were also performed to entertained the mixed audience.



Like last two years, this year also many Bhutanese seniors living around great Seattle area were honored with respect and appreciation in this celebration. Many guest from different agencies and professions were also present to enjoy the program. Couple hundred Bhutanese and some folks from Nepal were present during the celebration as cheerful audience.



Since 2010, Bhutanese in Washington have been celebrating every new year with great cooperation and full of energy.
